A public adjusters job is to assess claims of losses or damages related to homeowner’s insurance. But, there are many different types of insurance that are available aside from homeowner’s insurance. Different insurances cover various parts of people’s lives. If something happens to you or a beneficiary, you’ll have to file a claim to be compensated by your insurance company.
There are specific insurance claims for your health, car, life, and even your pets. When filing a claim you are often times assigned an insurance adjuster who comes out, assesses the claim, and decides on how much you should be reimbursed. Unfortunately, these adjusters only have the best interest of the insurance companies. A public adjuster can help you in assessing your claim and gaining fair compensation for all different types of claims.
When to File a Claim
Once you’ve suffered losses or damages that are covered by your insurance policy, it’s necessary to file a claim. The times to file certain claims do differ slightly. This depends on the type of insurance claim you’re filing. If the policyholder of the life insurance dies, the beneficiary will have to file the claim. When your home is damaged by natural elements, you have to file a claim. Regardless of the kind of insurance, filing your claim as soon as possible is very important. The insurance company that you are insured through will be responsible for covering your losses.
However, insurance companies will do whatever it takes to process the claim so it turns out in their favor, but with their best interest in mind. This is only because they do not want you hiring a public adjuster. Therefore, they may not assess certain factors or purposely overlook the factors of the case. These unassessed factors may hinder the client from receiving their fair compensation.
Why a Public Adjuster is the Right Choice to File Your Claim
Public adjusters have vast experience and knowledge about the insurance industry and how they work. They also help their clients gather concrete evidence and document losses effectively. This ensures that they will receive full, and fair compensation. Some people who hire public adjusters are individuals or businesses who have been victims of another individual or entity’s negligence or recklessness. There could be situations when they did not get the help or compensation that they needed from their insurance company. In some cases, they may have been denied a claim altogether.
A public adjuster can help because these professionals will negotiate with the insurance company and make sure that a fair settlement is reached. The insurance companies’ confusing lingo or run-around will not confuse them. No matter if your claim is for health insurance, auto insurance, or homeowner’s insurance. A public adjuster can help you through the process of receiving the compensation you deserve.
Good to know! Thanks for sharing this information.
Insurance claims can get quite complicated. Thanks for breaking this down!
I like the idea of a public adjuster because of all the experience they have and that they don’t work for your own insurance company. That makes them less likely to skew it in the company’s favor.
I’m 100% pro-public adjustor. Insurance company adjustors are there for one purpose: to give the insurance companies the best – which means least – payout possible.
Public adjusters can make a difference. They stick up for the consumer and help arrive at a fairer assessment.
I’m looking to purchase a home with my husband in the near future, so this is great things to know! Definitely need to have a public adjuster to not get ripped off.
I would love to have the help of a public adjuster to get that professional guidance. Do you know if they are avalible to help people from other countries?
Hello!
Currently, we are only working within the U.S. If this changes we will be sure to update our information and happily help you.
Honestly, it’s my first time to come across the term public adjuster and I like the wealth of information that I gathered from your article.
Public adjusters are fair and unbiased. It is definitely better to seek out their service than to go to insurance adjusters.
I have learned something here. The next time we have an insurance claim, we will look to get some help from the public adjustor. It will give us a better chance with the insurance company.
This is the first time I heard about Public Adjuster. It sounds so interesting. Thanks for the info. I learned a new thing today.
Super useful information! We actually had to hire a public adjuster when our roof was leaking. The insurance company wasn’t going to cover much of anything and when the public adjuster came in there was way more damage to be found. Now thankfully we are getting a new roof and it is covered in South Florida!
This is an interesting read. I am not really familiar with public adjusters and it is nice to know that there are professionals who can help us negotiate with our insurance companies to make sure we get a fair settlement. Thank you for sharing this.
Hhhhmmmm….if you say so! I’ve always suffered with the people at the insurance company bargaining for a “fair” deal to repair Mummy’s car! I know who to look for now!
